BIOGRAPHY

Miguel Luciano was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, and raised between Seattle, Washington and Miami, Florida. He now resides in New York City. Luciano received his B.F.A. from New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida, and his M.F.A. from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Public interaction and community exchange are a priority in his work, so that he continually develops public art projects in various communities.

A solo show "La carrera, la parada y lo comprado" (The highway, the parade and the bought") is currently at the Arsenal de la Puntilla of the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Two of his paintings are on exhibition at El Museo del Barrio, New York, as part of the museum’s 2002 S-Files Biennial of young contemporary Latino artists.
