THE NIXON DOCTRINE AND THE MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX
What happened in here is that there is a change in U.S. military aid policy. In the first part of the military assistance program they were giving,weapons, equipment, grants whatever. Now here although they were having loans, and sales and whatever in the military assistance program this part disappears almost completely. Because the change here is the Vietnam War. The cost of the Vietnam War makes such an impact on the U.S. economy that the U.S. stops giving armaments to any nation. And that is called the Nixon Doctrine and it was easy to define "burden-sharing." That means a country has to defend itself and the U.S. will sell it weapons but will not intervene. So this is the big change here. The military-industrial complex is already rearing its head. They are selling now
